Antonym

Antonym was founded by Miami makeup artist Valerie Giraud in 2013. She wanted to have natural makeup that was highly pigmented. The line has a range of powder foundations, eye shadows, eye liner, lip crayons and mascara.

My take: I have to admit, I’m a sucker for cute packaging and that is what first drew me to Antonym. I love their packaging, It’s made out of sustainable bamboo and has a magnetic closure. I love when cosmetic companies can be creative and find new way’s to house their products that are eco friendly, and sustainable.

So,enough about the packaging, lets talk about the goods. First up, the Antonym Certified Organic Baked Foundation. I have to say, I really like this powder foundation but I do use it more as a powder on top of a tinted moisturizer during the daytime. I find that it gives a little more coverage to the tinted moisturizer without being cakey. To just use it on its own as a foundation, I found it doesn’t have quite enough coverage for me, but when mixed with the tinted moisturizer, its perfect.  Their is a little brightening element to the Antonym powder foundation making the finish beautiful, I would say its in between a matt and a luminous finish. I like that the finish has just a slight hint of luminosity, these days the luminous look is a little of out of control. I like the luminous look but I would rather have it in a highlighter where you can place it where you want rather then all over your face and have you come off looking like a disco ball. This comes in four shades, each shade is multi-hued so they will work on a large range of skin types.

Next up, the Antonym Certified Organic Quattro Eyeshadow Noisette, these shadows are smooth and soft and most importantly highly pigmented with great staying power. I love the mix of the shimmer and matt shadows, the Noisette pallet is a great blend of nudes. This pallet is my favorite mix of colors for everyday, they do have two other palette color combos that come in the line; one with more grays and another warmer pallet.
